I had the idea of painting a little mouse lady with a broom. I don't know why, exactly, but that's what I wanted to. So I did a little thumbnail sketch and she turned into hamster and I just... I really love hamsters, y'all. I had a Siberian dwarf hamster for a couple of years--a rescue from an unscrupulous previous owner--who I'd named Methuselah in hopes he'd live a long time. He did! He had a seizure after about a year and a half and then kept on until he was over two years old which is a pretty advanced age for that kind of hamster.

So I did a painting of dwarf hamsters. And I love them. <3
