Mrs. Cook's and studies
Dec. 28th, 2018 12:23 amJ and I went to University Village today since Mrs. Cook's--a longtime cooking supply store here in Seattle--is closing due to the owner's retirement. We got some goodies! I finally got a mini muffin pan (something I'd been thinking about for ages and just never jumped the gun on) and we replaced some of our older, shittier, spatulas.
J also got me some new art supplies from Arteza as a late Christmas gift. I got myself the 72 pack of colored pencils, but J got me the 48 pack of brush pens, which seem really neat! So I spent awhile tonight swatching those and also doing some studies.
There are parts of people that I really like drawing--necks, arms, legs--and so I'm pretty good at drawing those! Hands I'm a little more iffy about, noses always give me guff, and mother effing feet are the devil. So, I made myself do some studies this evening and I'm pretty pleased! I feel like I actually did learn some things about noses and feet which I've either overlooked in the past or hadn't really realized, so that's good! Hands are hands and are tricky for most people, I think. In the coming days, I look forward to giving my new toys a spin!
