I've been listening to "This River is Wild" on repeat, occasionally yelling the lyrics (sorry, neighbors, if you're home!) and painting a Magikarp.

I'm never going to get a job and I'm broke af and stressed out and everything sucks.

What a wonderful Magikarp! I love the background, it's very well done!

This is based on an inspirational tweet or tumblr post or something, but consider the Magikarp. It might be a useless, silly looking fish flapping about. BUT when it evolves it becomes a powerful, magnificent sea monster! That's kinda inspiring, isn't it?

Thank-you! The background was 100% of a catastrophe at first, but I managed to coax it into something that I'm really happy with! I used mostly gouache which I used for the first time ever and, honestly, had no idea what I was doing with.

As for my Gyrados aspirations, I just need to find a trainer willing to let me tag along in some battles until I get my exp up or I need to figure out what level of accumulated trauma inspires a Magikarp to evolve in the wild and then decide if it's worth it.

In the meantime, we all just keep on Splashin'!

It really is! According to Brandon Flowers, it's a really polarizing song and fans either love it or hate it and I'm here like... Who could hate that song?? It's great!
