100 Heads Challenge day 1!

I am going to try and do the 100 Heads Challenge, which requires a person to draw 100 unique heads in 10 days. It's an exercise to try and help you avoid Same Face Syndrome. SFS is definitely a problem that I can have--especially since I like to draw really teensy little drawings a lot of the time and it's hard to diversify facial features. That's what I keep telling myself, anyhow.

ooh, i like this idea! (not that i have the stamina/commitment to participate, but, y'know...)

those are some nicely varied heads, too! what are you using for reference?

I went on Pinterest and looked up "face" for most of them, lol! One of them is a friend of mine who offered her face up for tribute and I specifically looked up "Asian woman" on Pinterest to find the reference for the woman in the bottom right corner. I wanted to keep my search as general as possible to cast as wide a net as I could. It still took a lot of scrolling to not JUST find models!

may i recommend a site that'll save you some scrolling? there's http://humanae.tumblr.com which has a very diverse set of human faces available. (and a 'random post' button, which may help diversify your models even further!) you do have to screenshot them for a 'permanent' record as the site doesn't allow direct downloads, but it's definitely workable.

Oooo! Excellent! Thanks so much! This tumblr is definitely useful for some good forward-facing shots. I do love the range of ages and races they have!
